Every time we attend a team meeting, a conference or a video class we see one clear message passing through, &#8220;<strong>You need to make your content simpler and scanable<\/strong>&#8220;. I will post a series of blog posts on how to make your content <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brandle.com.au\/sentence.htm\">simpler<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.useit.com\/alertbox\/9710a.html\">scanable<\/a>. I will start the series with Link titles. <strong>Link title is a blessing for content however it is<\/strong> <span style=\"color: red;\"><strong>not used<\/strong><\/span> very frequently.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What are link titles?<\/strong> As it says, it is the title for a link (no it is not the anchor text). Lets take an example to understand.<br \/>\n<strong> &lt;a href=&#8221;URL&#8221; <span style=\"color: green;\">title=&#8221;Link title&#8221;<\/span>&gt;Anchor text&lt;\/a&gt;.<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen you mouse over the link it shows the link title as a tail.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Link titles helps you in budgeting:<\/strong>Every click by your reader is expensive, less clicks implies very targetted content. Link titles can save you some clicks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Web estate is very expensive:<\/strong> Web estate is expensive and link title can save a lot of your web estate. It works on top of web estate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Link title is a silent speaker:<\/strong> Link titles stay there as a silent speaker. It comes up when you want them to come up.<\/li>\n<li>Link titles make your <strong>content more attractive and effective<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Example<\/strong><br \/>\nLets take an example on how it can be useful. Paragraph without link titles &#8220;When you are under heavy debt you can consider following five options 1) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.debtconsolidationcare.com\/diy\/\">Settle it by own<\/a> 2) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.debtconsolidationcare.com\/debt-settlement.html\">Professional Debt Settlement<\/a> 3) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.debtconsolidationcare.com\/debt-management.html\">Professional Debt management<\/a> 4) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.debtconsolidationcare.com\/bankruptcy\/\">Bankruptcy<\/a> 5) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.debtconsolidationcare.com\/do-nothing.html\">Do Nothing<\/a>&#8220;.<strong>The same example with link title<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;When you are under heavy debt you can consider following five options 1) <a title=\"When the debt is manageable you can think of solving it by your own.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.debtconsolidationcare.com\/diy\/\">Settle it by own<\/a> 2) <a title=\"When the debt is totally unmanageable think of settling it with professional help. It can reduce your debt amount by 40% to 60%\" href=\"http:\/\/www.debtconsolidationcare.com\/debt-settlement.html\">Professional Debt Settlement<\/a> 3) <a title=\"Dbet management reduces your interest rate.
